FENCING BASICS

Fencing basics are suitable for everyone (Start from 7 years old).

​

Our basic fencing class is designed to develop proper fencing footwork techniques, and practice attacking and defending movements, build strength, power, and agility necessary for fencing movements

​

 

Here's what you can expect:

​

1. Physical Conditioning:
   We focus on building strength and core, power endurance, and agility speed essential for fencing movements. Through targeted exercises, you'll develop the physical attributes needed to excel in the sport.

​

2. Footwork Techniques:
   Proper footwork is the foundation of fencing. You'll learn and practice basic fencing steps, including advances, retreats, lunges and 4 m footworks. These techniques will improve your balance, coordination, and ability to control distance on the piste.

​

3. Dummy Drill
Practice various offensive and defensive blade techniques in front a hitting dummy, including simple attacks, indirect attacks with different distance, parries and to make a miss. You'll learn how to execute these movements with precision and timing. In addition, you will learn proper grip, point control, and basic blade actions.

What need to bring

Student will need to wear comfortable sporting clothes and shoes, and a drink bottle. We will provide all the fencing equipments.

Arrival

Student needs to arrive 10-15 minutes earlier to complete individual lesson and exercise

to the the pre-class exercises.

After the class

Student can join intermediate classes. They must be able to do the exercises and footworks, get dressed quickly and connect to the electrical scoring machines on their own.
